FAQ

Q: Can I buy your props?

A: Our props are solely for rent. But we do have many items for sale here

Q: Do you rent by the day?

A: Our rates are all based on a weekly rental – we do not offer any daily rates. We do long term rentals as well.

Q: Do you deliver?

A: We do not, but we are happy to recommend a messenger service that delivers our props regularly.

Q: Are all of your props online?

A: 100% of our furnishings and artwork are online. 20% of the rest of our items are online and whatever is not online can be viewed in person. Come visit us!

Q: Do I need an appointment?

A: There is no appointment necessary (hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm; Saturday 10:00am – 4:30pm.)

While you are welcome to pop in and browse without an appointment, please note that we typically need an hour’s minimum (or more for larger orders)  to write up and wrap an order to go out.  Please budget time for the rental process as we usually have several orders queued up every day and cannot always get to your order immediately.

In order to enter into the Brooklyn Navy Yard you will need a security pass. Please call 646- 230-7747 or email us inquire@lostandfoundprops.com or text us 646-246-7039.

Q: I can’t make it into the shop.  Can you pull items for me?

A: We can pull a selection of props for you to choose from, just pass along specifications and reference photos.  Items rented in this manner are subject to a 30% surcharge for the time we spend doing this work.

Q: What happens if something gets broken or goes missing?

A: The renter assumes full responsibility for lost or damaged goods and must pay for the repairs or the replacement value as assessed by L&F.

Q: What happens if I’m late with my return?

A: Overtime for props is charged at 10% per day beginning the day after the props were due back & thereafter. Surfaces are charged at 20%.

Q: Is all artwork cleared?

A: All artwork available for rental at L&F falls into one of two categories: 1) we purchase the art directly from the artist or the family (estate) of the artist and they have given us their written permission to allow the artwork to be photographed and / or filmed. 2) We have thoroughly researched the artwork looking for the artist or any know estate for the artist. If the piece appears to be orphaned and not attached to any know living artist or active artists estate, we allow the piece to be rented.

Q: Can I paint or modify the props?

A: No! Not unless given explicit permission in writing from the manager.

Q: Can you help me down the elevator or meet me on the curb?

A: We cannot. You must hire a messenger service that is able to pick up the props directly from our location..

Q: Does L&F ever consign or purchase props?

A: We do not consign, but happy to see what you have and we might purchase it.
